Goal line stand?
Seriously!?
When was the last time this team had a goal line stand? Our defense is so porous right now, that once the opposing team enters the red zone, it's just a matter of time before they score. And I can't remember the last time we stopped anyone inside the 5 yard line. Hopefully, with better recruiting, the D-line can get more stout in those situations...
End rant...

End rant... Missouri, two years ago? That's all I can remember. Except that was only because of The Ghost holding call. -

I'd be satisified with a few more "just keep them out of the endzone" stands.
Those have been few and far between the last few weeks.
A&M punted ONCE last week. Every other possession went to the house, I believe.
NU and Baylor weren't much better.

Re: Goal line stand?
I'll take a 3rd down stand first. Then we can move to the goal line stands.

End rant... Last year against K-State... Not sure if it was goal line, it could've been at the 1 but still.
This isn't exactly a news flash, but we aren't dominating on the line consistently, which is a big reason why we're losing games.
The basic premise of football is simple: dominate the line of scrimmage, take care of the football, and force turnovers on defense. It's easier said than done, which is why you play the games, but in a game whichever team does that better usually wins.
I don't drink the Kool-Aid, and I am done making excuses. Only keeping it real... -

NU and Baylor weren't much better. Not only did they only punt once, WE MUFFED IT!!!!
also, they did have one drive not end up in the endzone, we forced a fumble right after the muffed punt haha

Re: Goal line stand?
I don't know why A&M bothered to punt the one time they did. They were consistently converting 3rd and 7,8,9. If I were a coach I would go for it on every 4th down against us unless I was backed up deep into my own territory. I can't remember more than two times last week when I stood up to cheer for 3rd down and we actually stopped them.

You are correct, however since it that was one of those "Cyclone Only" plays where the kickoff team recovers the kick 40 yards downfield - I didn't really consider that an A&M possession. -

Re: Goal line stand?
New strategy - onside kick after every score. Field position is meaningless... drive 80 yards or 50 yards, it's the same result.

Re: Goal line stand?
The K-State game last year was a straight up goal line stand. Thank you, Tuba. We REALLY miss that guy right now...

These guys will get better. -
Re: Goal line stand?
Little Things: Hey we are just happy to try to make a goal line stand versus giving up 35 yard touchdown passes consecutively.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
