Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
MAC:
1995 3-8
1996 2-9
1997 1-10
1998 3-8
1999 4-7
2000 9-3
2001 7-5
2002 7-7
2003 2-10
2004 7-5
2005 7-5
2006 4-8
12 Years 56-85
CHIZIK:
2007 3-9
2008 2-10?
Who would have thought we would win less games in 08 than in 07? Coach Mac actually had a higher percentage of Win in his first two years at ISU. Its going downhill folks, Where are all those colorful emails from Jamie Pollard these days? I don't see him talking to the fans any more.

Re: Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
So we can give chizik til year 5 before he has to produce wins. I mean that is what mac did.

Re: Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
I think Chizik wins because hes younger. Maybe Mac if he's in his prime.
Next.
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving. -

Sweet, so 2012 we can have a really good season, then a couple of decent ones, then fall back into mediocrity....where do I send my money?

2005 7-5 6 years. 5 bowl games. Winning record. Top ten ranking. That seems like 20 years ago now.
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk,superdorf, clones_jer. That is all. -

Re: Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
I think its dumb to compare Mac vs. Chizik...they are completely different situations.
If we are going to compare Chizik to anyone it should be to Brian Kelly, Tim Brewster, and anyone else on the short list.
I'm not saying this to be against Chizik but does anyone else think its a kick in the groin that Kelly is 5-2 at Cinnci and Brewster is 6-1 and ranked at Minnesota?

Coach Chizik has won national title for Texas on the defensive side of game. Where is that defense now? We had the weakest schedule in big 12. We still couldn't produce any wins. I don't see Chizik fired up at any game. He was more fired up last year than this year. where is the fire in these student athletes? What is missing from JP's vision? I just don't get it.

Re: Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
I'm angry that I even wasted my time reading this crap... It's only year two people... we suck, we're probably not going to win more that 4-5 next year either... if you're gonna fall/jump off the bandwagon just get the hell off now and stop making things worse... this team will turn around eventually, not this year, probably not next. Get used to it, and get over it.

Re: Coach Chizik vs Coach Mac
I agree with brian though, when Mac took over we had been bad for quite some time. Now, we're not that many years removed from bowl visits, bowl victories and good seasons. Times have changed and people don't want to start over again from the bottom, and I can't blame them.

Our fans are absolutely no better than Hawk fans and it's repeatedly put on display each and every week here.
Very little reason or rational thought these days.
