good to see McHargue commit. now that hole left by bates is filled. its unlikely that we will see another QB in this class unless Kenny Guiton wants to come to ISU

Honestly, on film, he looks like our best true quarterback. I love to see high school quarterbacks that look so poised in the pocket.

Sometimes, I think colleges will sacrifice accuracy for athletic ability at the quarterback position.

Are you saying Arnaud doesn't look like a True QB? He is much more of a drop back, passing QB than he is a scrambler. He is a passing QB who can also run.

I guess I must have been watching someone else throw for almost 400 yards last week.

I mean it'd be sweet if that were the case, but it would also be sweet if we were going to a bowl game this year. Reality sets in again, and we realize that that is just plain and simple highly unlikely (and thats being generous)

EDIT: Sweet in that he was all that and a pancake on a rabit's head, so he beats out AA or Tiller.

I think that you're reading a great deal into that post that wasn't there. If anything, he was taking a shot at PB. However, I suspect that largely he was commenting about athletic quarterbacks who don't pass that well--like Mike Vick.

Do you guys want to bash me now, or wait until I point out that he's not terribly tall for a college quarterback, or that I would have liked to see the likes of Isaac Virgin (Guiton didn't impress me).

On the other hand, with Arnaud and Tiller, what we were in the market for was depth, rather than a for sure, down the line starter, someone who could start in a pinch, and maybe develop, and I'm sure that McHargue witll fill that role nicely. Especially if Tiller manages a redshirt this year, and McHargue one next fall.

And that 1560 SAT is quite impressive.

I'm sure that as Austen enters his junior season, getting an top quarterback prospect to feed into the mill will be a priority from the get-go next year.

McHargue looks to have some very good potential. He did a great job of evading the rushers at 2:15 in the video.

It is a shame that his high school team does not seem to have the talent this year to compliment Taylor's. Cedar Park Vista Ridge HS is north of Austin and will likely not make the playoffs this year. I would venture to guess that this all has some impact on his 2 star rating with Rivals. Star WR talent is the other half of the equation.

Since he will have tough competition for the starting and back-up QB spots, I wouldn't be surprised if we use him as a QB/WR combo. Kind of like Flynn.

I thought he was going to Houston, but damn the kid is smart, I was praying he'd commit, what a way to wake up this morning!!! The coaching staff is doing a great job recruiting, now we need some lineman.
