Probably can't get the grades this year to get in I would suspect.
Perhaps they have a history of abusive behavior and cell phone theft?
You basically become a four-star juco if you see the field. Juco rankings are more of a joke than high school ratings.
Look at our history of signing 4 star Jucos and you will see why.
Because we are priming the pump for our breakout year in 2012.
ISU needs some immediate patches. Both sides on the line need help, so do the safeties. With regard to the 'D' I would take a high school team that at least knows how to tackle right now, this is getting embarrassing.
Why not pull up Ankeny's safeys? Couldn't be any worse.
The last decent group of JUCOs we had came in 2004(Dobbins and Hicks)
We even had a group of guys who weren't bad bad but the 2nd recruiting class freshmen have taken a number of those jobs which leaves me hopeful that we can evenutally get there...
They are JUCOs for a reason. Generally, the only JUCOs worth having are the late bloomers.
Ask Ron Prince how those JUCOs are working out.
Well, Ron Prince overdosed on Jucos. I would say this team needs atleast 3-5 Jucos. I wouldn't want anymore than that but we need something to jump start us for next year. I suspect Chizik won't go down the Juco route very heavy until he gets real desperate, ala Prince.
So did Tim Brewster. He signed 5 his first year and 7 his second year. That's about the number we should be looking for as well. We need HS recruits for the future, but 2-3 JUCO players who can step in and play offensive line and 2-3 who can step in and play defensive line in 2009 would make a big difference.
