If ISU gets off to a good start - soild play - and leads after Q1, it will win. This team needs a jolt of confidence based on performance early in a game. Then it will carry through.
ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)
I'm not gonna say one way or the other. I'm just hoping we can play a good game and the other stuff will work itself out. Go State!!!
"These are my new shoes. They're good shoes. They won't make you rich like me, they won't make you rebound like me, they definitely won't make you handsome like me. They'll only make you have shoes like me. That's it." - Charles Barkley
I think they have a very good chance to win this one. CO had their leading rusher break his leg last week which will hamper an already struggling offense. It will be a really close game but a weak offense in CO against a weak defense in ISU equals out it will be up to our offense to move the ball and not become stagnant in the red zone.
ISU hasn't put together four quarters of football all year. If we somehow manage to play the whole game like we played the first half of the Kansas game, then we could win, but I don't see ISU pulling out something like that.
Fans shouldn't concentrate on the score though. The Cyclones are in a rebuilding year. Look for solid play through the whole game with no let downs or mental lapses (i.e. personal fouls). If we can do this, we can leave the game with something and look for improvements and maybe a win against KSU
To win we need to go for the yards that we need on third down conversions and defend the over-the-top passing. If we don't do those two things we will spot Colorado at least 14 points.
