3 Losses by 9 points

I'm trying to stay positive and when looking back we could easily be 5-5, 2-4 right now. Given the Iowa game we could easily be 6-4. We are just too young and don't know how to finish games. Coaching hasn't been great either. ISU will get older and hopefully coaching will improve on past mistakes. However, there is still hope for the future and we are on schedule for rebuilding.

Year 1- Lose Big
Year 2- Lose Small
Year 3- Win Small
Year 4- Win Big

With a much weaker B12 North next year, ISU can turn this around.

I dunno, we lost plenty of games this year by wide margins. One of them (Baylor) that was quite embarrassing.

Kind of reminds me of 1999.

A loss is a loss is a loss.... Just ask the 2005 team

I was once in an airport bar 5 minutes after Salma Hayek. I think next year we will be in the bar at the same time. She will probably buy me a drink, fall in love with me, and have my baby. I am also looking forward to the future.

The most frustrating thing, and maybe scariest, is that a few of these losses fall squarely on the Coaches shoulders (at least in my opinion). They simply have to get better at game management or this team will never succeed. I used to think that McCarney and his staff were poor on game days.....but this staff so far appears to be as bad if not worse. Hell, they should have been penalized for delay of game at the end -- how inexcusable is that???

Year 4 is Okie and texas and Tech. I do not expect to win big that year. It is next year or a longer dry spell.

I was just going to post this same thing about us being 9 points from being 5-5.

One of my dear Iowa buddies just informed me they are 12 points from being 9-0 and in the National Title game.

Do people not realize things don't work this way?

We are Texas Tech's roster away from being undefeated.

Perhaps a better measure of the season is the number of games we were competitive in:
1) SDSU--enough said
2) Kent State--check
3) Iowa--check
4) UNLV--check (probably should have won, don't understand the first half meltdown)
5) Kansas--check (see UNLV, just switch second half for first half)
6) Baylor--Not competitve
7) Nebraska--Not competitive
8) Texas A & M--check
9) Okie State--Not competitive
10) Colorado--Check

So by my count, we have been competitve in 7 of 10 games, unfortunatley the three games we weren't were all conference games

We have some serious deficiencies on defense to deal with before we can be competitve

I know-call me Captain Obvious
