Exactly! I don’t know how anyone in their right mind could of expected us to be better on defense this year. We lost way too many key players and are very young right now.
However, I did expect us to be MUCH better on offense this year than we are. I didnt expect miracles with a new QB, but overall I have been disappointed in our offense this year.
I am very dissapointed in our running game most of all, but A-Rob is starting to show why we all thought is was going to be special. Just need to shore up that offensive line.
"These are my new shoes. They're good shoes. They won't make you rich like me, they won't make you rebound like me, they definitely won't make you handsome like me. They'll only make you have shoes like me. That's it." - Charles Barkley
I listened all preseason to those of you that said "addition by subtraction" as it related to Meyer, Blythe, and others. I think the results show that you were INCREDIBLY wrong. Maybe next year when the replacements are developed and have an extra year in the system. But for now, we're dealing with a lot of very young players.
Yes, I expected and hoped for more, but we didn't get it. Maybe we should zap the coach and all these young players and work on your addition by subtraction formula for next season.
Give these guys a break. I for one think we're on the right path and very much look forward to '09.
Addition by subtraction my ***.
ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)
Reading some poeple's posts throughout the season have made me a little confused. By reading some of these, it makes it sound like we have been good for a while and now since we aren't winning in year 2 everyone thinks we should get a new coach. I am in no way bashing Iowa State, but we have been bad for a very long time. We have scattered a few winning seasons and some bowl games in there but we have not been consistantly good in basically forever. Rebuilding a program that has never been very good takes time. Were not in a recruiting hotbed like florida, or texas or california. This is Iowa. Not many kids want to come here and play in the midwest. It is going to take time to get this program off the ground and people need to realize that. Chizik knows that and he is sticking to the way he thinks will get it done. It's year 2, just give it some time.
2012/six years we will be okay/maybe ranked
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
