D-Line

This is something I noticed during the CU game that I had only recognized because I had flipped the channel a few times to the Iowa/PSU game.

I noticed how far our D-line is off the ball when we line up prior to the snap. I had flipped to the Iowa game and it appears their D-line is simply crowding the line of scrimmage. Yet, we seem to be well off the line.

Has anyone else noticed this?

My thoughts are that we could probably gain a half step towards the QB by being closer.

Could something as simple as this make that big of a difference? I think it could.

It could be that the Big 11 refs are a little more leinient when it comes to the neutral zone than Big 12 refs...
