Student Fans

I would like to thank the students for coming to every game and making the Jack a great football venue!!! You are to be commended. I know the recruits sure notice and Chiz has said they make the difference. Please show up for the team and these seniors on a cold saturday night!!!! My brother played for the cyclones in the late seventies and still talks about the send off they had back then.

The sad thing is, once you finally get outside of the stadium while a game is going on, You realize that there are a BUNCH of people that could be in the stadium

Let's see if they show up and then stay the whole game this weekend. Last few games I bet 1/2 of the ones in the upper deck did not return after half time and I think it was the Nebraska game that about 3/4 of them were gone by the start of the 4th quarter. I love our students but been disappointed with the decreasing attendance as the season has gone on.

Yep, we students really suck. We leave early, we don't wear gold. I don't know why we even bother. (sarcasm)

Let's not turn this into another "Students suck/Students are great" thread. Let's just have whoever is going to the game go, yell really loudly, and stick around the whole game.

Yeah... thats a 2 edged sword and a can of worms...

The alum section usually doesn't have much room to talk in this category

I think it's going to be ugly in the student section Saturday night because of the weather. Just my opinion and I hope i'm wrong.

Do we really want to go down this road of going after student support of the football team this season? The student section certainly hasn't been the only section of the stadium thinning out as the second half progresses. Frankly, given the product on the field, I've been quite impressed that we have as many people as we do showing up to the games at all, let alone staying until the bitter end.

There is one and only one solution to this problem: win.

Nope...completely accurate...of the 50 or so people I know who normally go to games, a LOT aren't going using the excuses that a) we aren't very good and b) it's going to be freaking cold. I really can't argue either of those reasons with them, but I can assure you I'll be there cheering my *** off!

Agreed!! The students have been awesome at the football games this season. I've been very impressed.

Now... step your game up just a bit for the basketball games.

The balcony student sections were like a ghost town for most of last season. I know it's not easy when the product isn't great, but the student support is huge for that environment.

I never understood that about some of the tailgaters. They are less then a mile away from the game, but instead of going they stay by their car and eat, drink and listen to the game on the radio. I've even seen hawk fans set up and watching the hawk game during the ISU game. I understand tailgating, but if your not going to watch the game, why not stay at home and do the same thing, with out wasting gas and the money it cost to park in the lots?

I guess it's their choice, but its something I've never understood.

For the type of season we have had, I think our student section, and most of the stadium for that matter, has shown up well for games. With every game it becomes a little easier to leave early and not go back...can't blame them for that...it's depressing!!!
