Re: Stevie Hicks Found Dead...
I waited on Stevie and his family on several occasions at Hickory Park. He was always quick with a smile and hand shake. He was kind an curtious to the staff and his family.
Sad, Sad, Sad.
RIP STEVIE

Re: Stevie Hicks Found Dead...
I'll always remember that "patented" Stevie Hicks double juke for about a 30ish yard score to put the final nail in the coffin against KSU in Ames in '05. One of the few games he was really healthy that year if I remember correctly.

Re: Stevie Hicks Found Dead...
I remember him running down the throats of Iowa in 2005 in that 23-3 game. Iowa thought their defense was so great with Abdul Hodge and Chad Greenway at linebacker but Stevie had 122 yards that day.
On a side note, looking at the box score from that day and the talent we had on that team is crazy. Hicks, Flynn, Meyer, Blythe, Jon Davis, Kock, Tim Dobbins, Matt Robertson, Adam Carper, Nick Leaders, Alvin Bowen, Shawn Moorehead, Steve "Greedy" Paris, Lamarcus Hicks, DeAndre Jackson, Berryman, "Big play" Curvey, etc.
What a fun team that was to watch.

Re: Stevie Hicks Found Dead...
I'm unable to post it now but YouTube search for ISU vs A&M 2005, Iowa 2005 or KSU 2004 if you want great Stevie highlights. Those were all games (previously mentioned) that he was #27 in our programs but #1 in our hearts.

Re: Stevie Hicks Found Dead...
I've had flynnhicks03 for my username for most of my logins for a long time (we all had high hopes for Austin and Stevie, didn't we?). I was thinking about retiring it, but I'll have to keep it for a while now. When healthy, Stevie was an excellent back. I just wish we could have seen more of what he could've done at 100%.
I remember during the recruiting process, after he had committed to us, there was a report that came out that said he was looking at some other school(s). Deace was following this story pretty closely, if I recall correctly. Turns out, he was so tired of getting phone calls from the media, other schools, etc. that he was handing the phone off to his buddies, and one of them said that Stevie was going elsewhere. Funny looking back on it, but there was a lot of panic among ISU fans for while.
RIP, Stevie. You were a great Cyclone.

Would a moment of silence be appropriate for before the basketball game Saturday? I think so
