"Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

Hard to respect a piece written simply for laughs. A serious representation would've at least included Mike Stensrud.
I don't know if I'd put Grandpa Warner ahead of Mr. Hobbs. The article clearly stated that place of birth determined home state, and as we all know, Ellis is from Texas. DeSoto high school to be exact.
I'm usually listening to the call-in show at the beginning of MNF and not paying close attention, do they do player introductions, including school like they do on Sunday Nights? I wonder what Sage will say...

Nothing about that article came across as anything more than another pot shot at Iowa. Id love to see the state of the country if Iowa disappeared.

They crashed north of Clear Lake, but not that far north.
and anyone who takes this article as anything but humorous need to lighten up. They're planning similar articles for 14 other states.
oh and Warner > Hobbs. It's not even close, even if Hobbs was from Iowa. Ellis is a better than nfl average db. Warner is a 2 time MVP that is in the process of writing his name all over the nfl record books.

Paul Krause? Paul Krause, a 6-3, 200-pound free safety from the University of Iowa, became the leading pass intercepter of all time with 81 steals during a 16-season career with the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings from 1964 to 1979.
