Seriously how do they fire other guys, and not him? That's what they get for signing him to such a long contract when he hadn't proved anything

Racism on a OLD, WHITE, FAT MAN!!!!!!!!!! There are only 2 currently coaching that I can speak of - Weiss and Mangino!

They could fire him, hire a coach for 1/3 of what they are paying him and they would be in a BCS game in 2 years

Racism in the fact they fired Willingham for far less than they SHOULD fire Weiss for. I am not saying I think it is racism but you know many people out there do and will say something about it

Maybe the President and Athletic Director weren't kidding when they said it isn't only about the on-field product, but the graduation rate and team GPA (both have risen since Weiss took over)

Well, the only thing I can think of other than financial reasons is they did show improvement from last year. Maybe they figure he deserves one more year to see what he can do. I've gotta think anything less than 9 wins will have him fired.

Not sure how you can defend Willingham. He had 2 bad years out of 3. Weis has had 2 bad years out of 4. One of those is partially due to how bad of Ty was at recruiting in his last two years. Charlie has had top ten recruiting classes the last three years. Yes he hasn't gotten as much out of them has he should have but this coming year will be his first full class of seniors. I am sure he will be one a game to game basis, which he should be. But for the people who is call racism is just a complete joke, remember they fired Davies for the same reasons as Weis.

I never said I agreed with the racism but it surely will be questioned.

Charlie did much better with Willingham's guys. With his guys he has Notre Dame with the most amount of losses in their history over a 2 year period. They lost to Syracuse. He obviously is a horrible coach and worse than (gulp) Ty.

I honestly think this one comes down to the $$$$$$$! ND was looking for a quick fix and didn't get it with Willingham and also didn't pay him much, so the buyout was minimal. Now with Weiss, there is $21 million on the line and even ND has to look at that!

I agree. I just think this will become an issue now.
