Actually the sad thing is, I don't think it will bite him in the end. It sucks for ISU and the current players he's recruited, even this years class, but some how I don't see him suffering in this situation. Even if he doesn't get the job, ends up staying, each year after this he ends up being on the hot list, and not for getting fired.

I would like to see anyone here argue this. Best point of the night so far.

The more and more I think about this, the more and more this is turning into Steve Alford II.

I trust Gene will make the right decision in all this mess and stay at ISU.

It will, trust me. Show me one major coach who has done something like this and went on to great things.

As I said in the other thread, Keith Murphy just said that his gut feeling is that Gene Chizik is gone.

I think its safe to say at this point that Gene feels he made a mistake coming to ISU. But the comparisons to Steve Alford are a little over the top. Steve Alford is pretty much the worst person ever.

I dont blame GC one bit...who wouldnt interview for a better job regardless.

I dont think so most fans probably understand...when a better job with more money comes along you take the interview.

When GC got hired it wouldnt surprised anyone this day would come...why does it lose support now?

Fan support can be won back with wins. The bigger problem is the player support he lost.
