I am sure he did not initiate contact. If Auburn asked him to interview for the position I am sure he would. All that being said, he is 5-19 in two seasons at ISU. No way he would get the job. No way!

and at the time, one of Coach K's good friends and college teammates was living in Ames because his wife was teaching at ISU. (my HS coach in Florida).

I heard the story long before I ever considered going to ISU.

Auburn fans loved Chizik when he was there. Many were hoping he would be their next head coach a few years back once Tuberville retired.

I seriously doubt there would have even been a Coach K if he had come here as in he wouldn't have had enough success to achieve the moniker. It is a difficult job here and 95% of the coaches that come aren't leaving in as high a regard as when they arrived.

That's Nixon and I have no idea what this means either.

Danny Mac was a personal friend of mine I will admit I am biased.

This site is going to know who interviewed where there is smoke there is fire.

Gene would take this job in a heart beat most would.
