AND...... he is a former member of the SAE fraternity. I think I heard he already has a cot waiting for him over there in cold airs. HAHAHA do you guys still have reefer madness like you did in the 80s?

Turner Gill would not come here to play against NU. He has a different job in mind.
Move on to real candidates. what is the different job?

Re: Head Coach Poll
Well, if Auburn can hire Chizik, can't we hire Tuberville? I mean, he's available, he's got experience, and he's already sitting on a walletful of cash, right?

or you can hire me, my NCAA 09 Dynasty is 120-0. i'm sure that success will transfer over
I've had similar success. I would be interested in being your OC. -

What other schools have openings now that ISU will be competing with for coaches? (Washington, any others?)

Re: Head Coach Poll
I would love to get Turner. I watched the MAC championship and was highly impressed with his sideline demeanor and seems to be a gifted offensive inovator. To a man, supposedly if you ask anyone thats ever been associated with him at Nebraska, they will tell you he is as solid a human being as you will ever find. He would be a great representative of ISU, if we could talk him into it of course.

Now that Washington, ironically Auburn & Syracuse have committed to head coaches, there are no other schools in major bcs conferences with openings yet that I'm aware of.

New Coach
JP needs to seriously think about hiring a head coach. Not a coordinator again. Fans are not willing to start the whole rebuilding process from the lowest level again. Get someone with head coaching experience. An older candidate would be the best match, younger guys are just going to move as soon as the next best thing comes along.

We already tried the "head coach" thing. Guy named Jim Walden. He was older. Didn't work out so well.

Jim Walden 28-57-3 .335
Gene Chizik 5-19-0 .208
And Jim gave us the big upset win over Nebraska. I never thought I'd see a worse coach than Jim at ISU, but I guess I was wrong.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.
