He set out to rebuild ISU's football program and he didn't finish it. He really didn't even get it off the ground.

He quit on the fans, the players, and the coaches.

I'm not under contract at my employer. They can terminate me at any time without having to buy me out of the remainder of the contract. Conversely, I can leave any time I wish without repercussion as I did not sign a contract and have no terms to meet.

Then every ISU coach that we have ever hired is a quitter on the team that they left to come here.

Coach McDerrmott is a huge quitter too then. Im gonna go outside his house and yell at him. Who is with me? That scumbag.

Although it may not be as bad as yesterday, now is still a really bad time to attempt to support Gene Cheezshit. He has been adamant for the last month that his family loved ames, that he was staying here. he denied reports that he was unhappy at ISU and that he regretted taking the job. Most importantly he lied to his players personally. he told them he wasnt going anywhere and he held their trust and im certain that no one questioned his word.... and now we all just look like a bunch of idiots for believing his BS. he deserved to has some harsh words flung his direction as he leaves ames FOR GOOD i hope... get out and stay out Gene. you are worthless

McDermott left his program in a much better position than Chizik did. He rebuilt that program and had damn near plateaued.

Its not so much the fact he quit as it is the fashion he did it in.

Tell the guys on the team to grow a pair and realize that their former coach move onto bigger and better things.

I hate that Chizik left the way he did too, but you people make it seem like he is the first coach to take a better job somewhere.

I am with the crowd that says he's not worthy of my time. I've got better things to do. If I went I would be thanking him for leaving, he obviously wasn't right for Iowa State and sparring us any more years of complete deterioration.

I feel like I might actually be embarrassed for knowing you guys are going out there to heckle him and his family.
