Hire Tubberville, Paul Rhoads and Borges.

Pay Tubberville $1, because his contract with Auburn will stipulate that any shortfall from a new job and his severance is to be paid by Auburn.

Do the same with Paul Rhoads.

Since Borges has been out of work for a year, pay him something greater than what he was making at Auburn.

This way Auburn pays for their sins and we offer redemption to Auburn fans. They will be so livid they will finally take the university and athletic programs back after we start winning and they start losing - all on their dime.

I don't know anything about Tubberville, but my guess is he'd rather not go through the effort of being the Iowa State football coach for $0 extra dollars per year. Paul Rhoads probably wants the job and would go for it though.

Most coaching contracts have such a clause to protect the pay of a fired coach who anticipates a step down in pay and prestige if fired, as is the norm - this situation being the exception.

I sure hope Pollard has the balls and I expect Tubberville SHOULD have enough anger at how he's been treated by Auburn to go ahead and take the job full of righteous anger to show those who wronged him how wrong they were. Ditto for Borges and Rhoads.

that is some brilliant financing for our athletic department. if only those three were burning with anger for auburn. not sure they are.
