12/16/2008 OFFICIAL Gene Chizik/Auburn Thread
Nothing really new to add other than the date's changed. Oh and did you guys here this Gene guy left for Auburn? I caught a small blurb on the TV
I thought I'd wake up today feeling better about Chizik, but nope. Sure don't. Still think it was low what he did.

Chizik really pisses me off. Did his wife pick up an Iowa accent while they were here?

It will be interesting to see where Chizik goes to recruit. Will he use any of his Iowa ties?

The Iowa and Ohio State fans I work with are all volunteering their assessments of his character, most of which don't make it through any language filters. This guy really burned a lot of bridges with this move.
It's gonna be tough for him to find any job in three years. Maybe he'll end up in the NFL. With his personality, that might be best. Who knows?

Re: 12/16/2008 OFFICIAL Gene Chizik/Auburn Thread
KJOX replayed the only interview Chizik gave yesterday.
Not much interesting except for a small blurb when Chizik remarked, "I can't handle criticism." He meant to say he can't do anything about it for 7 months until their first game, but the quote on its own will come out and be thrown about.
The morning guys went on to say that at Auburn won't be seeing any of the previous assistants back. They confirmed that ALL of the coaches' nameplates have been removed from the doors in the Auburn Athletic Complex.
Then the show hosts went on to start listing the de-commits from Auburn. Looks like they lost a 4 star QB named Raymond Cotton, a couple receivers, and a running back. I think they said seven so far.
They went to commercial, then came out of it playing "Let It Be" by the Beatles.
Those poor radio hosts try to go to pro football and other stories but 80% of the callers call in about Auburn and Chizik.
