Sure, he's a former NFL player, but a special teams coach? Really?

Re: 12/16/08 Official Head Coaching Search Thread
I'm pretty "blah" on DeForest. Just looked at his bio on OSU's website. Special teams coordinator/associate head coach (whatever that means). Not too impressive, imo. Please let this be a smoke screen...

jamie is flying out today...
Is it still possible to track the flights?
-
Re: 12/16/08 Official Head Coaching Search Thread
I've heard Peterson from TCU.
As far as tracking the flight, I'm sure Jamie has seen this before and isn't going to meet with Gill in Buffallo or DeForest in Stillwater, however did you know that Oklahoma has a Pan Handle? Just an FYI. Back to my point, I'm sure they will meet in a nuteral sight, maybe Dallas.

I'd have to think this would be a pretty good get. I mean, this is the guy many wanted the last time around. People didn't think we could even get him then and that seemed to be the same thought now.

Re: 12/16/08 Official Head Coaching Search Thread
This Turner Gill story is everywhere now. If he is not hired as ISU's next coach I hope we don't get smeared into this race issue. Pollard really has to have his ducks in a row.Even when things aren't true if they are said enough people will believe them. Untruths can be devastating to recruiting. Without coming across as opportunistic, this would be a great time for the nation to hear the Jack Trice Story and the impact he has had on ISU. After a giant step with the election, This issue truly shows how bad it still is in some parts of our country. Good Luck Jamie, i have all the confidence that you will handle this search appropriately and show the country the integrity that ISU has.

bring in turner gill,period.............
if gill is not the hire, mkie patton oklahoma's offensive line coach would be my second selection.bring in someone that can coach, not some dumb**** defensive coordinator who doesn't know his arce from a hole in the ground.
hire d. w rutlegde, who is presently the chairman of the high school coaches association in texas and was an outstanding high school coach at judson converse and who won many 5a championships in texas. would make an outstanding offensive cooedinator and would know how and where to recruit the best football players out of texas. rutlegde might even gice mack brown at texas fits about recruiting texas kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
