Exactly. A waste of time and energy. So let's move on and work on dealing with the situation moving forward, rather than back.

you know...if I'm correct the ADs biggest job duty (yes there are others) is raising money. Looks like he is doing a phenomenal job right now.

    Sure thing.

    1. Media reports surface of Cheesedick telling OSU asst coach that he regrets taking ISU job. Instant press conference professing his love for ISU and how "deeply entrenched he is in Ames"

    2. Pollard offers him a 2 year contract extension prior to the last game and Cheesedick is "touched"

    3. Cheesedick tells Pollard multiple times over the weekend that he was not taking the Auburn job.

    4. Cheesedick won't even return his boss's calls or texts on Saturday afternoon.

    5. Cheesedick pulls a 180 and tells Pollard that he is gone.

I can see how Jamie should be kicked in the balls for all of this happening. Totally agree. (Heavy Sarcasm)

I am so sick of the MAC apologists on here just waiting for Jamie to fail so they can say I told you so. What was coach Mac's record at ISU? If he was at any school other then ISU would he have been kept around as long as he was? Pollard did the right thing for Iowa State University and that is what his job is. I would guess that 90% of the Mac supporters were the same people begging for him to be gone and now have a reason to open their mouths like they supported him all along. Give me a break.

Re: Why don't we blame the guy who created this mess?

I'm not going to read any of these posts, I read a few and I'm ******.

    Okay Monty:

    * let's go back to the day of 32,000 fans/game, even for a chance at the Big XII Title game.

    * let's not improve the concessions areas.

    * let's not bowl in the south endzone.

    * lets' not buid a faithful fanbase.

Like Jamie said, when ISU football starts winning this place will erupt.

Good God, you JP haters are just plain stupid and blind.

I could have predicted this: Mac haters like you are embarrassed because Chizik, the man you all have told us is a "fighter" and such a great leader has turned out to be a phony and a quitter. So you rag on Mac and his fans even more.

You can't expect freshman linemen to step in and be ready to play college football less than a year removed from high school football. It doesn't work.

Wayne Morgan was a great recruiter, I will give him that, but he couldn't coach to save his life. We underachieved a LOT in his last season. The jury is out on McDermott, but he gets his 5 years to turn it all around.
Say what you want about McCarney, but he did a good job of winning the games that he should win. If Chizik had done that this year, we'd probably be looking at 6-6 pretty easily.

Not quite. I supported Mac but newsflash... Mac is gone. Mac did a good job while at ISU and I was a proud supporter of his as well. I liked the Cheesedick hire but I have been a very vocal critic of his total lack of skill as a head coach.

The Mac supporters have a vendetta against Pollard cause Jamie showed him the door. What most people don't understand about Mac is that we were never going to be much more then a .500 team every few years with more trending towards his 4-8 finale.

Iowa State fans loved the bowl games we went to but with any success comes the desire for more. When Mac was ousted it wasn't because he was a solid coach. He was. It was because Iowa State fans started to expect more and unfortunately Mac wasn't delivering.

Pollard has done great things for Iowa State but I get tired of everyone blaming him for everything that goes wrong. When the AD hires a coach his job is now done until he sees fit to make a change. If you want to blame anyone for ISU's lack of success in Men's basketball or Football then you need to look at the men who are (or were) in charge of those programs.

I am tired of people trying to take the easy way out and blame Pollard. The guy has done alot for ISU athletics in a short time span and more good things are to come.

For the love of God people just let the Mac thing die.

Mac was a GREAT person, Mac had flashes and good years of being a good coach. To take it to the next level we needed a change. This is done and if anyone really wants to debate McCarney go back and read the last 6 months of posts prior to Chizik and don't bore me with moving this thread in that direction.

I agree 100%. The same people bashing Pollard for handing Mac his walking papers are the same ones who were begging him to do it in the first place. If anyone wants to place blame for our football program being in total chaos right now then you can blame the new head coach of the Auburn Tigers.

    He did???

I seem to recall losing at home to Baylor to give them their first EVER B12 road victory in a year we should have won the North.

I recall this brilliant man winning the toss in an overtime game and TAKING THE BALL FIRST! (of course we lost)

I recall being ahead of K-State 28-7 at halftime only to lose.

I recall being ahead of KU 14-3 at halftime for the North only to lose.

I remember losing at home to UCONN in their 1st season as a D-1 FB school. This was during the Seneca Wallace "glory years".

I could go on and on if you like.

    I was thinking Sean Keeler.

He and Monty both love Iowa yet pretend to have some interest in Iowa State while they write out these rants that trash the Clones every chance they get.
