Will Dan come with him? Or will Dan be promoted in Florida?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: Start Up the Charlie Strong Bandwagon!
I think he could get Dan as his DC.... i really would like to get a guy with head coach experience (i dont count charlies time as interim coach haha) but i think if we go the coordinator route he would be my number one choice. great recruiter and a brilliant defensive mind
Edit: just looked at the recruiting targets Mac has been after... of four targets, 3 of them are 4*'s and he has landed those three(a OL, DE, and DT)... also recruiting a 3*. just cool to see dan succeeding a lot

And coaching under Urban Meyer can't hurt. That guy knows how to coach.

The flowers bloom eternal. We will find our way back soon. We just had a near death Bill Callahan experience for two years. Look how fast Nebraska recovered.

Re: Start Up the Charlie Strong Bandwagon!
How do we know he isn't just Chizik 2.0? D-Coordinator of a national championship caliber SEC team. I don't know, the resume speaks for itself, and he's definitely an up and comer, but it's hard to believe he won't be gone in a couple years, too. If we knew he wouldn't leave for at least 5 years, I would be fine with it, it just seems like we're setting ourselves up to be burned again.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

Here is his official bio... Everywhere he has been he has succeeded... University of Florida Athletics ***GatorZone.com***
some of my favorites...
- In 1996, helped a Notre Dame defense that ranked 11th in total defense at 270.0 yards per game.
- Notre Dame set a school record for sacks with 41.5 in 1997.
- In 2000, his defensive unit was ranked 16th in total defense after giving up an average of 308.09 yards per game. The corps ranked sixth nationally and first in the SEC in scoring defense, averaging 15.8 points a game, and ranked 24th in passing defense and 28th in rushing defense by allowing 193 and 115.1 yards per game, respectively.
- In 1999, the Gamecocks ranked 20th in total defense giving way to an average of only 307.7 yards per game.
- In 2001, coached a Gamecocks defense that helped the USC football team finish the year ranked in the national poll for the entire season. Also contributed to the 2001 Gamecocks finishing 13th in the final AP poll, giving USC it’s first nationally ranked back-to-back seasons in the program’s history. The 2001 team also was the first in school history to win nine games in a season.
-Instilled an aggressive, attacking scheme at Florida that forced 31 turnovers, which was tops in the SEC and ninth-best nationally in 2005. The unit also recorded 33 sacks, the 25th best total nationally and most at UF since 1999. UF’s 337 yards on tackles for loss in 2005 was the best in school history since records were kept in 1983.
- Named one of the nation's top 25 best recruiters by Rivals.com for his part in the 2007 signing class that was ranked No. 1 by most outlets.

Thing is, he isn't an up and comer, he has been there and done that for a long time...

Re: Start Up the Charlie Strong Bandwagon!
Would seem to be qualified, I would give him a shot. No chance that Dan would follow though
UF has scored points off turnovers in 28 of the 37 games he has been the defensive coordinator.
UF has intercepted 53 passes in his three years as defensive coordinator, the fifth highest total in the nation during the last three years
Co-Defensive Coordinator for a Florida unit that improved in 14 statistical categories in 2005. Florida ranked ninth in the nation in total defense (299.8 ypg.) and 10th nationally in rushing defense (94.9 ypg.).
Instilled an aggressive, attacking scheme at Florida that forced 31 turnovers, tops in the SEC and ninth-best nationally and recorded 33 sacks - the 25th best total nationally and best at UF since 1999. UF's 337 yards on tackles for loss in 2005 was the best in school history since records were kept in 1983.
Florida's 31 turnovers resulted in 114 points or 34.3 percent of all UF's points - tops in the SEC. UF was third in the SEC in three and outs (35.3 percent of all opponent possessions).

Re: Start Up the Charlie Strong Bandwagon!
I just jumped on the Charlie Strong bandwagon as well. If we can't get an experienced HC like Patterson, then I would be excited about getting Strong.
