Short answer: No
Long answer: No, sir.

Re: Happy Gene
That is what I was thinking. He never really showed any enthusiasm for the job at ISU. He was going to leave as soon as he could, and boy did he. Thankfully.

Re: Happy Gene
Even at the rally when he was announced, I thought he looked clueless, uncomfortable, and stunned - as did his wife. Almost like, "I know nothing about this place and don't really care. But what I do know is that I'm getting paid a million bucks a year, so whatever."

Kind of how he and his whole staff looked on the sidelines during games.

Re: Happy Gene
Keep in mind, he didn't need to win over our fanbase. He is heading to Auburn with a 5-19 HCing record and HAS to win people over.

Re: Happy Gene
I hate him for this mess he put us in....

Agreed. He had us at "Hello", but not Auburn.
There are a number of people magically showing up in the "I never liked Gene" camp. Where were they before?
I was fooled by him. Up until last week, I still believed in him. I did not like only 5 wins or the loses to Kent State, UNI, Toledo and UNLV - nor the lost to KU this year.
But I felt he could get it done. Fooled me - will admit it.
I thought the business-like attitude was just how he operated.

I thought the business-like attitude was just how he operated. Chiznutless has caused me to lose a little faith in collegiate athletics. He's also caused me guilt, guilt in that our fanbase gave that a-hole more respect than DMac. We actually came to games we knew we were going to lose and probably lose big.
I thought as the days went on my anger would lessen, but it hasn't, it's only intensified. I hate Chiznutless and I hate the word hate. If I were a gypsy I'd put a curse on that a-hole. I hope he fails and fails badly.

Re: Happy Gene
At this point Im over it. Everyone in the nation knows his true colors now. Its all in his lap. Good luck Jamie, bring us a man who can win games and has a heart for Ames.

Chizik is from Clearwater, FL and a graduate of the University of Florida. Auburn is 460 miles (7 ½ hour drive) from Clearwater. I don’t say, “I’m home” when I’m in Minneapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis, or Chicago; or when I'm at the University of Iowa. -

Maybe just getting out of the North's cold winter weather is enough to say he is home.
