Will you support our new coach if its Mike Stoops?

Honestly, I would be more excited by a virtual unknown than Stoops.

It would seem you can have a pretty good idea of what you're going to get from Stoops. Every 5 years or so, when the schedule allows, you might make a bowl...if you're in a horrible conference like the PAC 10.

If you're in the Big 12, it'll be even longer.

Where would you rate him among current Big 12 Coaches?

I'd rank him tied with Mike Sherman for dead last.

I give Sherman the nod ahead of him. Stoops reputation is the final nail in the coffin

i think stoops actually would be a really good pick up for us... at AZ although the 8-9 win seasons havent been there, he has a knack for winning big rivalry games and games against high ranked opponents

For some posters here, they will only "support" Pollard if he hires certain coaches. They really don't trust him at all, and they're fake fans.

I don't think it will be Stoops, but if it is, I think he brings a heckuva staff in with him. Like maybe Paul Rhoads and Chuck Long?

Either way I will support anybody we hire, including Hayden "ScratchWhereItItches" Fry.

Arizona was 5-4 this year in a weak PAC 10 conference. They did defeat ASU but lost to all the the respectable teams in the conference. In addition they were defeated by New Mexico. And this was considered Stoops best season at Arizona.

Average margain of victory was nearly 30 points. Average margain of loss was 5.5 points.

Keep in mind ASU was awful this year. They lost at home to UNLV, a team ISU nearly beat on the road.

I like the hire if it happens. The "Stoops" name holds a little more sway in recruiting around Big 12 country and he should still have contacts in TX & OK from his time at OU. Couple that with some experience recruiting the west coast and some time to work out the kinks in his first HC position and I think this would be a great pick up for ISU. Suck that he has Hawkeye ties, but if we can look past that it's a good hire.
