Several of the coachs that are being mentioned have games bowl games this week end and next week. So Chtistmas day we should get our present of a new coach.

You talking about the "she was terrible" quote? That has nothing to do with implying she deserved to be raped. It meant she sucked at kicking a football.

Again, please show me the quote where he implies she "deserved to be raped?"

So if it's not implying she deserved to be raped, it's certainly implying a lack of sympathy. Come on man! Even if he didn't say "she deserved it", the comment itself was classless and just plain dumb to say in front of the press after the woman came out with the story.

Barnett is scum IMO and I don't want him anywhere close to Ames. And, to be frank, I have to somewhat question the character of any fan who would want him coaching our student-athletes.

Yeah, I just said it.

Agreed. If your response to rape accusations is "she was terrible" you shouldn't be allowed to run a taco stand let alone a football program.

He way he said it verbally, he implied that she deserved to be raped and that he didn't care if she was raped because she was a "bad player"

It's hard for me to keep Tommy and Terry apart from each other. Which one got fired from Clemson this season? Whoever it is, I definitely don't want that guy. Chronic underacheiver.

I also do not want Barnett with all of this surrounding him and yes it was classless of him to say that "she was terrible", but "she was terrible" still does not translate into "she deserved to be raped".

I like Barnett. There were no NCAA accusations? I think his age is an asset at 62. He can coach 5 to 8 years and leave the program in good shape in the hands of a named successor. I will trust Jamie on this one concerning his character. Jamie knows his reputation and future is riding on this one. Barnett appears to have a good family. The media can destroy anyone if it wants. It is an edgy hire if it turns out, but it is a medium risk/ high reward type of deal. Having said this, almost everyone will have some 'warts' if you look hard for them.

The quote from Barnett about Hnida was taken completely out of context. Even Betsy Hoffman publically acknowledged it after she "mistakenly" suspended him for a few months. She went on radio and said Barnett NEVER said Hnida deserved to be raped. He was responding to a question about why Hnida wasn't accepted on the team. People need to look at the actual facts.
