I still don't understand some people's hatred for Deace. I know he rubs people the wrong way on political stuff at times but as far as being knowledgeable on sports and having an unbiased "outsider's" view on ISU and Iowa, no one else has come within 10 miles of him. I don't blame him for jetting to WHO but man, he left us with some nutjobs to fill in his timeslot.
If Deace could stick to sports, he'd be great.
When he goes off on religious and political diatribes it shuts a lot of people off and, IMO, makes him sound like an idiot.
There's a reason you don't hear any successful and serious sports media people talk about non-trivial things aside from sports. It shuts off a large portion of the fanbase that disagrees with your positions on other things, and simply doesn't want to listen to you because of it.

1700 blows when they try to do local. They even screw up their "local updates." The week ISU played Drake they claimed that the Cyclones were "going down to the Knapp Center. How hard is it to figure out where a game is being played??
Cotlar's show is just a long sad commercial for Drake in between some very bad music that Cotlar thinks is awesome.
Agreed. The music is what kills me... The intros back from the Drake ads (the only ones he has besides redwing shoes) are like 8 minutes long so he can blast some crappy music that nobody besides him likes. He always talks it up and tells local bands to send in their music.... Ask yourself this.... If you were in a band would you listen to that freaks show? Probably not...
