The seed co. is just on the other side of Wright Ave.

Re: Big Boosters
I had him for 330 in 92......
Albaugh does donate a lot, but much of it I believe is through several of his busni, and his son in law(s).
At one time, Mike Lacy from Merideth was a pretty big donor.
There is a pretty big difference between people that donate a lot, and donors that are involved with this.
There are some donors that have a direct line to JP because they offer other benefits like transportation, and a pretty big check book in case of emergency.
I was thinking about this because I know a few of these guys, and info from a big donor can jump to a message board pretty fast. I would guess that JP has to weigh his friendship with an important donor vs keeping a hire quiet.

I have a relative who works for Latham Seeds, and while the Latham family are relatively big supporters of ISU athletics, they aren't in the same ballpark as the big dogs being mentioned here.

Decker from Ft. Dodge is another. Plus they haul all of the team's equipment.

Re: Big Boosters
Does anyone know if Pollard is the only guy in the room when he is interviewing these guys for these nice $million dollar salaries?

Re: Big Boosters
The booster crowd probably has even less involvement in the search this time around. Last time some of them had some of their money involved in the buyout packages for the old staff. This time there is a broken contract payment rather than buyout so JP can do even more on his own. If the salary for the new guy is large enough, however, he may have to get more commitment from some of the key contributors.
