Marty: "I never want to experience this again"
Ha!
He's gone from needing to break this story. I mean, the guy had to have it.
Now today, after realizing he likely got played regarding Stoops...
"I'm done with it."
"I never want to experience this again."
"It would be totally disingenuous for anyone to say anything other than 'we don't know'."
"Pollard has this thing buttoned up." This is why people rip on Marty. I don't doubt he got info from credible sources. I don't doubt the guy was working tirelessly to get the right info.
But saying this stuff once he seemingly got burned on it - is what opens the door for him to get ripped on.

Ninja or pirate, Jamie wins.

Does that mean Palmer can calm down? -

Marty should have dropped it right then, but tried to back the guy into a corner.

But he went with it way to much and turned a little information into them going writing up the contract

Re: Marty: "I never want to experience this again"
I don't give a rip about whether Pollard keeps the process so secret that everyone is surprised when the announcement is made. He better be focused on getting the best person out there, not on being obsessed with whether the selection gets leaked before the announcement is made. His last game of gotcha didn't work out so well.

But he went with it way to much and turned a little information into them going writing up the contract Gee, Marty's never done that before and burned people on it.
I too know the info he got was from a great source. I sent a note to Jon earlier and he mentioned it on his show - I really think Pollard is wagging the dog here. Giving out poor info to keep people away from the real source.
Why?
Because that coach is in a big bowl game and does not want to have his team distracted. Also, that coach already left one offer on the table because it was prematurely leaked.
