It wasn't the big splash we though it might be BUT it sounds like we have a very passionate football coach who wants to be here for the long haul. He has got my 100% support and I hope all true Cyclone fans follow.

Agreed. IMO, those that are down about this hire just got their hopes up too much with all the discussion this week.

Should be refreshing compared to GC's demeanor but I wonder about recruiting. He'll do well in Ankeny though! Much will ride on the rest of the staff. Should be interesting to watch it unfold.

I think with all of the former Head Coaching names that have been thrown about this week I was looking for Jamie to go out and make a big splash. Spend some of the money he has been raising on brining in someone with experience leading a program. If he was going to go with someone from Auburn Tubberville would have been the name I was excited about.

I'll support him and am anxious to see him keep the players we have on the team here and bring in some top quality recruits but it seems like a rebuilding hire not a moving on hire.

i love this hire! Rhoads had great defenses at Pitt and Auburn (and was at it in BCS conferences much longer than the Cheeze). he's a part of the Cyclone family so he will show great loyalty. also a great recruiter. and here's to assuming he's met enough quality coaches along the way to not create a staff from Division I-AA and non-BCS schools

I totally agree. He is passionate...something that Chizdick lacked...and I am really looking forward to that. Is he the best hire...maybe not but time will tell. We both fully support our new head coach and look forward to where he will be taking the program. Best wishes to Paul and his future staff!
