More buddies for Chizik?
I am betting that Chizik is going to be pulling some more buddies from his former staff here if he can get the big spender at Auburn to go for it after this one: Luper, Chizik: Together again, now at Auburn - The Gold Mine - al.com "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly." -
Re: More buddies for Chizik?
Wonder if this is the OK State coach that ****zik told that comming to Iowa State was a mistake.

You know what, those "comments" he made to an Oklahoma State coach supposedly are starting to make too much sense -

I am glad we got paid for him to leave, because he was going to be fired in a year or two.

Re: More buddies for Chizik?
I know it's a long shot, but with the Big 12/SEC matchup, wouldn't an Iowa State vs. Auburn Independence Bowl give Cyclone fans a little extra motivation to go to Shreveport?

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.” -

When you've coached years at Auburn and Texas you're used to getting great talent. Why did he take the ISU job? He could have made a number of calls to former coaches and realized how tough it is to recruit to Ames, Iowa.

Independence bowl??? How about a BCS bowl against Auburn.

He took the job because he knew he'd need HC experience somewhere, ANYWHERE, to get one of the jobs he really wants (i.e. Auburn). It was plainly obvious that he was just going through the motions of being the HC here knowing that he was soon going to get a chance somewhere else and jump on it ASAP.
Its just surprising that one of those big time programs would offer him a job with a 20% winning percentage as a HC.

We were the farm team for Auburn.
I wonder if Jay Jacobs made a decision on Tuberville if Gene was available mid season - no, no that could never have happened. Could it? That would not be tat thical. Recant verse being hummed. Hmmmm. Gene must have told PB that he was in his giant doghouse.
