Re: Jason Carlson
Well if you play 3-4 WR sets you are going to need to be 6-7 deep at the position to rotate players in and out plus to protect against injuries.
Johnson
Darks
Hamilton
Money
Jones
Carlson

Did Euseph graduate? Seems like he has played at ISU for 10 years.

Re: Jason Carlson
My dad had one of the coaches into his work last week and what he said about range was that he was the best route runner on the team. He said that he wasn't the fastest reciever on the team, but he runs crisp routes and always finds a way to get open. He also said that Bo Williams has the tools to be great but he's just not there yet..

Re: Jason Carlson
Wasn't Range scout team player of the year?
He seems like more of a fit in the spread offense than Marquis does. I would like to see the top 5 WR's be Darks, SJ, Jones, Range, and Money

Wasn't Rice's best receiver their TE? I want Marquis in the hybrid TE role...

The thing about Range is he's got good size and his innate ability to find holes and get open go back to his high school years as a qb. This kid could definitely be a fun piece to play with for Coach Herman. If his innovative offense uses his wr to throw, run or catch - Range fits that bill.
Here's his evaluation from last year.....major knee surgery dropped his recruitment - but now its been two full years which is normal to get the knee and confidence back - Range will be our surprise player of the year.....

Another excerpt from TexasFootball.com: CREEKVIEW'S RANGE HEADED TO ISU Lonzie Range, a talented athlete from Carrollton-Creekview, has committed to Iowa State instead of taking an offer from nearby SMU. Range, who played QB at Creekview, is projected as a WR for the Cyclones. He has good speed (4.5), but his real weapon is his escapability - when he get's the ball in the open field, he's athletic enough to either make you miss or step out of your tackle. Careful! -
Re: Jason Carlson
How about moving him to D? He seems like he is pretty good size and might make a good hard hitting safety. Also punt/kickoff returns and coverage, with one or two offense plays sprinkled in. Make him Rover baby!!!

Re: Jason Carlson
It'd be cool to have a good punt returner again... been a LONG time since that happened.

Re: Jason Carlson
We haven't had a dynamic punt returner since the early 90s. Todd "4.8 40" Miller was safe, but we should be able to do better. Ryan Baum had his moments, but again, he was slow and wasn't sure handed back there.
