A person I know helps out with official visits and that person told me what a DB he was when he was talking to the players about "how much bank" he made and his big huge house and his wife stays at home and takes care of it. Just trying to show off to 17 year old kids.
Love hate relationships, Yeah maybe a few guys didnt like him, But do you have to be in love with your football coaches? all of them? LJ liked Boulware, LJ probably had the most success learning under Boulware.
That being said, the guy left a lot to be desired in his personality at times, But he is a coach, he didnt do a bad job here, and for that I wont throw him under the bus.
I wish him success at "Aulburn" He will be much better as just at ST coordinator and not both RB and ST.
I wouldnt mind bringing back Brian Schnider for ST.
I would also like to say, we brought back a lot of McCarneys recruiting ties in Chris Ash, and Kept MOST of Chiziks ties in keeping Fountain.

If that story is true, totally low class and not needed. We don't need some one like that at Iowa State.
I don't know. His first year our special teams sucked. HORRIBLE!
the second year they were better but it seems more emphasis wa splaced on Special teams as a whole. Makes me wonder if it was boulware or if he couldn't get it done so more effort was placed on Special teams.
Kick return was great (and how much of that was Johnson)but other then that what improved. kickoff coverage? maybe. I guess we actually fielded punts last year so that was an improvement. Every stat but kick return, we were average or below average. So I guess,I fail to see why he is so special. He just took and average special teams unit, turned it horrible, and then brought it back up to average again
