Chizik funny on ESPN

I thought the same thing after they hired him. He will make the perfect interim coach midway through the 2010 season when Chizik is let go.

#25. Northwestern makes a run for the roses.

I always root for Northwestern to win the Big Ten (just cuz I think it would be funny) but, clearly, if the Wildcats go 11-1 or 10-2 and win their conference, the Rose Bowl will select Iowa, who will finish 8-4 again and who will have lost to Northwestern again, to go to Pasadena instead because their fanbase drinks lots of beer and puts lots of butts in the seats.

I actually went and browsed an AU board yesterday and saw a theory about this. Sorry guys I forgot what link it was.

But the thread was basically that there weren't really any good coaches available right now so Chizik was hired as basically a place holder until there were. the theory required though that Tubberville actually quit and wasn't shown the door. His support was that the chiz contract is highly incentive based and he was a cheap coach to bring in. They thought after tubberville quit the AD was caught without any good options. Since Chizik had some experience now as a head coach and a head coach he was a cheap, but viable option. So as soon as there is a good candidate is available Chizik is out and they haven't paid much, unless he does succeed in which case they compensate him with the contract incentives and determine whether or not to stick with him.

The experts always pick the team that doesn't play Penn State or Ohio State on the schedule.. just like Purdue a year or so ago.. and look what happened.

I would like to see Northwestern have success though, I really enjoy their coach.

I think they have the right guy in place now to do well in the Big 10, but honestly they need to get past that bowl game losing streak, they have not won one since 1963 or something like that. Totally insane.....

Well, Chizik better put up some numbers or he is out period. I do not care to talk about this man and Karma works in mysterious ways!!! I love this coaching staff that is here now and I am so very thankful that these excellent student athletes stayed with Iowa State!!! I believe they are getting a better coaching staff who will not turn there back on them.
