Maclin gone should bring MU back down to mediocrity. The Big 12 North will be weaker than ever.

I totally disagree. I think MU started playing average football midway through the season. With the way they have recruited the last few years they will be able to sustain that type of play next year. Nebraska also has recruited well the last few years and their defense looked better as the season went on. I think they will be just as good as they were this year. KSU returns everybody but their qb (they are currently searching the planet for that position) and has a coaching staff that can actually coach now. CU returns all the offense including the entire O-line that was out this year. KU returns practically everybody and is currently having their best recruiting season ever. ISU returns a lot of young talent. Looks to me like the North will actually be better.

I really don't think Mizzou can lose Daniel, Coffman, Maclin, and their OC and not get worse on offense. And their D is not good. Also, I think NU will have a tough time on offense losing the guys they do.

I think we're looking at a situation similar to '04 and '05 where 5-3 or 4-4 and a tiebreaker probably wins the North and a date vs. OU.

I don't know about all of the graduation losses and defections, but if Ndamakung Suh goes pro, there's no way Nebby's defense will be as good.

Oh, I don't see the North having success against the South. The South just has way too many advantages over the North. It will be very hard to compete with them on a regular basis. But I do think the North has a chance to field better teams from the top to the bottom next year. I would just like to see KU stay in the game against the South next year. With the exception of OU, KU wasn't even competitive with the South this year.
