Idea for gamedays

Is it too much to ask for a tornado siren to be played every time we score a TD? What do you think? I like the idea.

I like it, but instead of a siren, i think we should have a cannon go off. But i doubt that would ever happen in the middle of a game.

Sorry im usually not a smart ***, but with the siren idea... it would be nice if we could hear it when if goes off ever half hour, a couple hours before the game too.

Need the city to allow it to happen. ISU as I remember wanted as such, but as the CU game taught us we need to differentiate between a Cyclone siren and a tornado siren. I still think we should do it.

City of Ames, bringing ISU again. Don't they realize that without ISU they would be the "Town of Ames" or the "Village of Ames"?

Honestly, how many residents of Ames would not realize it was game day and freak out when they heard a siren on a Saturday.

I think it might have to do with a certain game against colorado in 2005.

I understand that, I was there. And I think I would be able to distinguish between and ACTUAL tornado siren (er the sound is coming from ALL OVER TOWN) and a siren being played over the PA in the stadium. And it's not like the stadium is in a heavily populated area. I mean, we ARE the cyclones for crying out loud. Is the Twister Towel the best thing we can come up with??? ugh.

said other stadiums are not in tornado alley, that being said, I still love the idea... just wish the city of Ames would be cool for once....

Just what I was going to say...

The difference is we probably actually use our Tornado sirens for more than just required monthly testing. They probably incorporate the use of the siren at a game as part of their testing regime

I would like us to get a chant going with the fans. I know they have been trying it with yelling "CYCLONE POWER". I think it would be cool to start out low and slow and buildup from there. "CYYYYYYYYYYYYCLOOOOOOOOOONE POWWWWWWWWWWWWWWER". Starting at a wisper and building.

I'd maybe be cool with that...as long as the chant was a good, awe inspiring one. Definately don't want one that inspires Aah...or Oooh.

I like any idea that adds to the game-day experience. I like the Cyclone Power, but I also think we can add cooler stuff that actually pertains to Cyclones. (ie Kansas' "wave the wheat" really? we can do better)
