David Sims
So the word on Sims is that he was able to sign early so will probably be able to make if for Spring Ball, which is always good to have more time with the system.
Even though he does not have a DC to coach him yet.... -
Re: David Sims
yes that is the word, not Grease. He does have Chris Ash as his position coach that will probably do much more coaching with him.

Re: David Sims
Definitely softens the blow of losing Butler.

Re: David Sims
I think 3 years to play 2. He might be better than Butler, I dont remember Butlers video, but Simms looked pretty good.

He did not play this last year. Played two years of JUCO, was supposed to enroll at Oklahoma for this year but did not graduate until summer classes. By then they decided not to take him.

Re: David Sims
Natural Free Safety, legit 4.4 speed, had looks to run track at some of the top programs in teh country. Played RB in JC because he was the best athlete on the team. Not really an academic issue, teams pulled off him because he tore his ACL his senior year of HS but also had problems off an on with that knee/leg in JC. All around good kid, well rounded... He could end up to be a HUGE get...

We may have decided to pass for Sims, or we may have flat out lost him to KSU. I still think it would have been nice to have the two of them although I still think we can make much better safeties out of the guys we have if we have a better scheme. The one we were using is never going to work at ISU with current Big 12 offenses given the front 7 we will be putting on the field.
