DC and SC
Time for a new thread since we haven't had one for a couple hours. -
Re: DC and SC
Ditka and Norris! Don't confuse hope for a plan. -
Re: DC and SC
It frustrating as a fan not having these filled but I cannot imagine how Rhoads feels, then to lose a coach, and have a tough time on the recuriting trail. His tenure isnt starting out to well
The gap in our economy is between what we have and what we think we ought to have--and that is a moral problem, not an economic one. - Paul Heyne -

I just want to ask. How do some of you think OkieState feels? Granted, it wasn't a whole coach flip out, but they have been without a DC for longer then we have been without a HC. So, I simply ask, give coach some friggin time dang. I know, with the state of sports today its "give it to me now, or show me something to be happy about," but for real some of you are going overboard with some of this.
Edit: Happy 5 bills to me!
NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section. -
Re: DC and SC
I think it hurt Okie State recruiting significantly, while being next to Okie. That is not a good sign to recruits.
Being a Big 12 DC is not that plush a job now days. It is like PAC Ten was ten years ago or maybe Mountain West. Being the DC is not a HC builder in the future. If you are a SEC DC, you may have more potential to make HC. So Bolt may have shot his chances in the Big 12.....
So are there more DCs or OCs as HCs in football?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: DC and SC
Thank God we have a coach that is willing to take his time to find the right people. Paul Rhoads seems to understand that your only as good as the people you surround yourself with. I'm actually encouraged that PR hasn't hired everyone because that gives me some confidence that he's not willing to compromise the significance of these hires.
This is a concept that the loser Auburn couldn't wait to hire didn't seem to grasp.

Re: DC and SC
You mean you would not just run out and hire a Bolt to fill a job for this year?

In retrospect, it is pretty obvious GC placed a higher priority on hiring coaches he felt he could trust over the most qualified candidate he could find.

He's obviously learned from his mistake.....hiring Malzahn is huge and if he had stayed here and hired Malzahn to ISU it would have been a lot of fun. But, i consider Herman in the same category as Malzahn - established young coach ready to break into the big time and then go onto a head coaching job.

I was feeling a lot better before Price pulled a Jizzledick on us.

Re: DC and SC
The Price just Chizwhacked us. He went M-State on us instead of I-State. He became a job hopper in two weeks. A cold hire.

To say that the PR tenure isn't starting off well is hysterical. Did you expect that he would step in and not lose any existing committments plus start reeling in 4 & 5 star recruits.
The start of PR's tenure will be measured by what we see on the field next fall. Until then, his efforts will pretty much be invisible to the casual fan. thank you!
i get so tired of the 'sky is falling' comments just because, we, the casual fan isn't 'in the know'.
