I really don't have time to read the 500 posts on signing day. Can someone summarize the surprises-good and bad.

solid class
nice job Paul R>
We never sign a sexy class in terms of stars or overall ranking so it's hard to say.
I'm happy we held onto all the verbals including Bellamy.
Disappointed we couldn't pull off a surprise on defense. The two stud LBs that waited until signing day to decide chose Florida Int'l (Mars) and Ole Miss (Marry). But Ole Miss received 38 signed letters of intent even though they only have 25 scholarships to give. So some of us are holding out hope that Marry may be interested in asking out of his LOI.

If we would have landed Mars or Marry, this board would have exploded with excitement. I think Knott, Klein and Jackson are all very capable LB's in the Big XII. If Knott stays at LB, I think he will be the "sleeper" in this class down the road.
Overall, one heck of a job by the coaching staff.
My other sleeper picks are WR Donnie Jennert (looks like a better Blythe to me) QB Brandon Mimms and DB Jeremy Reeves. Hopefully the class is loaded with sleepers. Only time will tell.
Check out this quote from Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt. Sounds like 13 guys are going to get cut between now and August.

Q: Talk about having 38 signees.
There’s no rule against that. One thing I do know is the rules. Of course, Mr. (David) Wells knows the rules and as long as Pete Boone gave the blessing. Here’s the thing about it, I know it seems like a little high number, but the thing that it does for us is it helps Mississippi. It helps our junior colleges, and I’ve never been in a state where you’ve had that many junior colleges. Our staff really doesn’t believe in taking 10 to 11 junior college players a year, but you do want to give back. You do want to help. There are going to be times when we need one, two, three, four difference-makers in junior college guys, like Patrick Trahan that comes from Northwest that has really helped our football team and has developed into one of our best linebackers. So I’ve got some guys that want to be a part of our family that probably will not make it academically. They have a chance to go and still feel a part of our family, and I think it’s important to build those relationships. I haven’t been here that long. You want people that want to be here. These guys want to be here. So I checked with David, and there’s no rule that says that we can’t sign 80. All I know is we have to have 25 ready to go in August ready and eligible.
You should be happy because we didnt just throw extra scholarships at crappy players as past staffs have done.
I don't know much about this class, but considering the upheaval and uncertainty with Chizik leaving, this looks like a very good class.
We should always be happy when another group of guys joins the Cyclone family. As to how good they are I doubt we'll know until they start playing against other college players.
