Top in-state Players for '10
Does anyone know who the top in-state players will be for 2010 besides derby, hoch, kohler, the kids from denison and solon?
"Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

My real question would be are any of them true D1, BCS conference , Big 12 caliber players. If so great, if not who cares.

Re: Top in-state Players for '10
It seems like we really have a legit shot at a couple of them. Kohler and Scherff. A lot of the others seem to have some history with EIU. Maybe we can wow some of them at Junior Day and at least get them to consider. Rhoads has a tough job ahead.

Re: Top in-state Players for '10
Scout 2010 in-state prospects:
4* AJ Derby, S, Iowa City West (Cincinnati, Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, Stanford, Wisconsin)
4* Andre Dawson, RB, Cedar Rapids Washington (Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin)
1* Bobby Brown, QB, Storm Lake (Iowa, Iowa State)
1* Zabe McCabe, QB, Sioux City Heelan (no schools listed)
1* Mark Lessington, OT, Lake City (no schools listed)
1* James Kohler, OT, Ames (no schools listed)
1* Matt Hoch, DE, Harlan (Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri)
1* James Morris, MLB, Solon (verbal commit to Iowa)
Brown & Hoch have ISU listed as schools of interest. Kohler is a hometown kid. Rhoads and his staff have a lot of work to do with Iowa HS coaches to recover from the damage done by Chizik. We are currently not even in 2nd place, Chizik was outrecruited in-state not just by Iowa, but by Missouri, Michigan State, and probably even UNI.

If Kohler plays FB, he'll go to Iowa State. He's a legacy and a home town kid. "A" student too. He has an offer from ISU and will improve a lot his senior year.

I think if Missouri offers Hoch, he will probably join his brother down there.
