. . . I was very impressed with Gene until all of this went down. But I still think he did what he should've done. Take the opportunity when it comes, especially if you know that was where you wanted to go. Who wouldn't.
Paul Rhoads, evidently.
As I recall, Auburn's Tuberville offered the DC position to CPR only a couple of years into his tenure as Pitt's DC. Didn't CPR decline the offer, saying he was obligated to stay more than a couple of years since the Pitt head coach gave him a great opportunity to become a DC?
Could be I've got the story wrong, but this is how I recall it at this moment. (Tuberville then hired Chizik as DC.)

I tell you what, he comes across every bit as friendly as we've heard and seen on t.v. What a night and day difference between him and what we had.
Good to hear I'll actually get to see a football coach at the tailgate event this year. Went to the one in Sioux City and Chiz was nowhere to be found. I guess he did a TV interview and went straight to the bus.

I am sure he probably did. It is amazing and I do consider myself a dope for not figuring out earlier that Chizdick never wanted to be at ISU. He talked a good game but if I would have actually payed any attention at all to his actions once he got here I would not have been shocked to have it confirmed that he is a total d-bag.
