Former recruiting coordinator with ties to Dallas can't be a bad thing.
Also a guy with Big 12 experience at Oklahoma and has coached with some really good offensive coaches like Long and Leach.
interesting how the coaching world revolves. Phil Elmassian was fired as defensive coordinator. this dude was on nebraskas staff as DB coach under callahan.
wells looks like a good hire. young, hopefully energetic. i dont remember him at OU. would he have been backing up josh heupel (sp)?
Luke Wells - ULM Warhawks Athletics Profile at ULM
The couple of comments that were left below the article seemed pretty positive about him as well, this may be another good pickup for us!
Wonder how much Chuck paid ULM to get them to mention his name in that listQuote:
Wells worked under several outstanding coaches during his time at OU – Bob Stoops, Mike Leach, Mark Mangino and Chuck Long.
What? No Iowa connection?:jimlad:
Agree we're getting assistants with recruiting ties in some great football states like Texas, Oklahoma, Pensylvania and Ohio. Looks like Rhoads is doing a good job putting this staff together and looking forward to hearing more tomorrow at the luncheon.
Good hire.
I dont understand why we need a WR coach. Its not like 6 WR signed last week or any young WR on the current team. Oh wait.
Great hire, I love the fact that PR seems to be building a recruiting-focused "Dream Team" within his coaching staff.
