The only Nebraska fans I have ever talked to at an ISU game was the most realistic football fan I have ever met. So I have nothing against a Nebraska fan. I know its shocking but I never had any Nebraska fan come out and tell me things I don't already agree with.Quote:

oh buddy you should call me. we can talk. if you want a broad covering statement "nebraska fans do not realize that life outside of husker athletics exists. and no matter what you have or what youve won or where youve been or who has played for you...they have better facilities or more trophies or bigger trophies or more nfl players, etc. and the cant see that there is more to it than that."
I was at the ISU-NU FB game in Lincoln in 1997, as a guest of a Nebraska student. I was the only Cyclone in the middle of the NU student section, and was treated very well, even good-naturedly.
That being said, it's pretty easy to see a rival in your student section as harmless when your team is up 63-7 at halftime.:sad:

I have a good Nebraska fan story...my family and I were sitting on the hill at Jack Trice before the Nebraska football game in 2004. We were cheering for the ISU players as they ran out of the locker room and onto the field. All of a sudden, this girl in a red Nebraska tube top comes running down the hill behind us, kicks my husband in the head and start swearing at us about how we suck and are terrible fans!!!
Her boyfriend finally came and pulled her away. It was so ugly. I will never forget it and my husband still talks about getting kicked in the head by the psycho tube top chick! The best part is we were sitting with my brother who was attending Nebraska at the time and he was covered in Nebraska gear! He was speechless!
I am thinking Hawk fans might be a better write. But that might just be because I dont know many nebby fans.
Why they certainly aren't what they were say in the mid-90s and I think there are some NU fans that struggle with this fact, most of what you cover is actually true and things I suspect most ISU fans would brag about if given the chance. Iowa fans often are the same with regard to their run of success and the corresponding players early this decade.Quote:

How is that bad? It sounds like a rabid fan to me. I keep up on what other Big 12 teams are doing and i'm sure all Husker fans aren't blind to the current affairs of the country and what not.Quote:

When you are on the sideline in Lincoln, it certainly isn't a place to be "starting something or trying to bring attention to yourself", so I wasn't ,which makes this guy so interesting. He looked like a former marine that wanted to come over the fence after me.
Every Nebraska game I've been to in Lincoln, I've been treated extremely well, before and after the tailgate.
My experience has been that NU fans are pretty much civil at home and pretty much horse's behinds on the road. The ones around us at the game last fall acted like they were beating USC. Most I've come across are pretty ignorant of any footbal matters that don't involve them.
