Pr announced DC today at Story County Cyclone Club Meeting

I went the SCCC luncheon today and pr was the speaker. My first impressions are honest, intelligent, sincere and passionate. When he arrived he mingled through the crowd and talked to many people. Highlights from his comments:

Lead off Joke was very funny
He said that they lost no players in the transition. One player was already gone when he got to Ames so he didn't consider them part of the team
Talked about recruiting-highlighted the 3 Iowa kids. Talked about recruiting period we just came through. He was up 24 straight hours and slept a total of 2 hrs 50 minutes before he started again. He said his staff will not lack effort
He thinks the OL are too big. Wants to "melt them" down.
His philosophy for S&C is explosiveness not bulk
His said we will be fast and nasty on both sides of the ball
Players are doing workouts on their own and he is very happy with what he sees
Spring game will be April 18
Very happy with the leadership on the team
Talked about evaluating the secondary (safety) and the DL as top priorities
Asked about tackling. He said he could talk for an hour on it and had a nice DVD he made for sale on his philosophy for tackling.
He tracked missed tackles at Pitt and Auburn and found that the opponent missed 2.5 more tackles than their defense did
Finally coaches- During recruiting period NCAA allows up to 7 coaches per school to be out recruiting so he wanted to get 7 hired ASAP. when asked about WR and DC he said he could not comment but later on when asked about defense scheme and so forth he said that (he covered his mouth and mumbled) has the same defensive philosophy as him but he will call the Defensive plays and the OC will call the Offensive plays.
Sounds like within a week or two the staff will be in place for the start of spring ball March 24 (right after spring break)

And I won the raffle for the PR signed I-State football. Not a bad lunch!

Well, according to the original post, it's some guy named "Brfefdf Defsklf" (the sound you make when you speak with your mouth covered with your hand), but it doesn't really matter because PR's calling the D plays - duh!

Is ISU's offensive line considered "big" compared to the rest of the Big 12?

It's is deffinitely him, but he was being obtuse on purpose. It's an act to get attention for a new project.

I don't think so... But I think this means we can expect alot of screens, short passes and not a whole lot of power running or deep balls...

I think glock is a jerk who is just trying to poke fun at ISU because we don't have a DC yet. I sincerely doubt that he actually cares about ISU football at all.
