ISU's #1 WR in '09???

Who's it gonna be? Curious about everyone speculation.

I really like Hamilton, but feel he's more of the tough yards/across the middle guy than the go to guy for big plays. Darks and Sed showed flashed of being a deep threat. I dont recall Jones being that much of a burner at the position.

It is really tough to say because we have so much new blood on the team at the WR spot. I would think that Darks would probably lead the team in receptions. He runs great routes and knows how to get to those open spots in the zone. Hamilton also has a shot here too as I see him being a possession, short tough yards guy.

As far as yards and TD's go, it is really a toss up. Sed Johnson, Joshua Bellamy, Darius Reynolds and even Lonzie Range all have a shot. And its just my personal opinion that the odd man out will probably be Houston Jones. He really fell off towards the end of last year and with the talent that we have brough in, I just think it is going to be real hard for him to stand out.

One last thing...I know he's not a WR, but I think Collin Franklin is going to blow up this year! I am expecting huge things from him in Herman's system.

I'm not voting, because I think we need 2 threads. I think Darks is going to be the receptions leader, but I think either Sed or Reynolds will be the "big play" type guy (if we have one). I think Hamilton will be utilized better this year as well. He is tough and has good hands. I think we have a very solid receiving corps (and some good looking recruits), but no superstars. Hopefully that will be changed by the end of the year.

Another issue we might have in this speculation is the Tom Herman's role.

It seems like he gets everyone involved including the kitchen sink(if offensively speaking, we have such a player?)

Darks did light it up down the stretch with a ton of catches his last 3 games. Me thinks hes got a good connection with AA on the field coming into this season.

Perhaps Herman can utilize a rule discrepancy of some sorts and run a college variation of the A11?

Don't get me wrong, I love our corps, but to say they are the best in the Big XII might be a stretch. Top half, definitely.

Out of all the guys we have/coming in, I'm most excited about Donnie Jennert. He has big play potential written all over him. He's very tall, has great hands and is fast. I think he could play this year and he may, but a RS year for him could be huge.
