I have talked to a few scouts about this. He doesn't seem to be the type of player to do the pro baseball/college football route. He likely won't be drafted at all now that he has signed to play football.

I think my favorite prep signee for ISU was Aaron Moore, especially if he winds up back on offense. We desperately need more athletic O-Linemen. However, there was a lot to like about a lot of guys, and I don't think that this will be a class that just washes away after a couple of years, like some recent classes.
I agree about Moore. He looks like a very good get. Lots of potential and appears to be very athletic. I also agree your lines could use an upgrade in athleticism.

As for Brown I'm not going to look it up, but I think he was a 4.56 guy and I put NO faith in what I see for the 40 times of these kids. If it is accurate 4.56 is plenty fast enuff. If you saw the combine times for CB's this year there were only about 3 or 4 that ran sub 4.5's!

I hope Moore stays on defense. He's got size and athletic ability to tear it up as a DT and we are always more thin on that side of the ball. We have a lot of young athletic OL on the roster right now. Funny how Moore was rated so highly at a position he never played before just because he had committed to Auburn. He's more experienced on D.

Interesting thought and I agree. Really when projecting to another position it is always a crap shoot. It's why to me the tweener guys at Lber who project to DT that are only 2 star guys. Seriously you can just toss those ranking out the window. Good or bad they mean bumpkus unless you have had a case history of doing it.

Furthermore King and Kroul came in as 3 star Lbers if memory serves. So was that a "3-star" ranking as an Lber, as a potential D-tackle or just as an athlete. If it was as a Lber I think they were way off "high". If for a D-tackle they were probably low.

Point being I trust the coach if he has proven he knows what he is looking for.

As far as Moore goes Iowa has had success taking BIG athletic guys and making them O-linemen. It has been my experience if a Defensive guy is being projected to O-line there is usually a reason why.
