Climbing a 12 inch wide conveyor that dumps into a 15 foot tall burning barrel was the cure my dad had for me. That chute would get plugged up and guess who got to climb that sucker. It's a wonder I didn't spend all summer minus eye brows every year.

    Haha, agree!

And gold/yellow helmets would not look good. We finally got decent uni's - let's keep them as is!

I like what we have now! We don't need to change our uni's every few years just because we can. Lets stay with something for a while and get some tradition going. The gold helmet would look bad!

Tradition of looking like USC? Dont get me wrong, I like our new uniforms well enough but they dont scream tradition when they look nearly identical to USC. Back on topic, I thought this article was a good read and I sincerely hope CPR cracks the whip on these guys to have them ready to compete come fall.

I actually enjoy bailing hay as long as it's not balls to the wall. My neighbors go so fast I think they are trying to kill themselves. Cleaning out grain bins sucks, but I think the worst thing is castrating hogs in July. It takes a week to get that smell off your skin.

I built grain bins for 5 years - sweating your nuts off in a metal box was every day in the summer. It was fun but I don't think I could do it again.

I agree completely...something just tells me he's going to be just what we were really looking for the first time around...perhaps the same will be true of the next basketball coach? ;-)

That does it. There needs to be a thread devoted to people's crazy farm stories. I'm sure PLENTY of people on this board have been to hell and back performing agriculturally related labor at some point in their lives..

Rhoads brought it up, not me.

I was a little disenchanted in regard to the FB program after Chiz left but I am very happy with Rhoads. Looking forward to this season and the KC trip.

I am super pumped up about this season! I can't wait to watch this team on Saturday's. I think Rhoads will have them ready to go from the git go

Otherwise we're just some team with a red "I" on a gold helmet as well as some illegible scribbling.

    to re-derail the thread...

the solution is easy. Make the st-te red or whatever, and keep the A yellow. you might have to do something with the I so it doesnt match right in with the st-te, but at least then it will look more like IA state instead of I state which is dumb.
