I understand what you are saying...but it is up to Ash to determine what is "right". And he might feel he owes it to himself and his family to take the opportunity to be a coordinator at a BCS school at this stage of his life. I do not know what he thinks...none of us do. I don't think it's the no brainer some of you seem to think it is for him though.
Ash is/was a VERY good recruiter in Florida and was the point man on Mac's staff for that state. Chris Singleton was among the players that he brought to ISU.
Coaches often recruit more than one area and Ash has very good Florida contacts.
Sounds like we need to make him an Assistant Head Coach and give him a longevity bonus.
I think that you are overestimating how much interest there is on the national level for this position. Not very many up-and-coming guys on the hot lists are knocking down Leavitt's door to interview. The proximity to talent is there, but not the pay or working conditions that one would desire.Quote:
