ISU Football Unis

I for one love the new I-State logo and our FB team's jerseys. They are very traditional looking and I like it. But one can't help but wonder if they are going to make some "adjustments" to the unis just because we have a new coach....and to forget about Chizik a bit.

If nothing happens.... I am fine with that....but some adjustments I would like to see:

1. Put the last names of the players on the back of the jerseys....(hate to say it....looks a ton like USC without the last names on there too.)

2. Put a gold stripe down the center of the helmet....on the Cardinal colored helmet.

(I also would like yellow helmets....but doubt that would happen.....only because we would be the only squad in the Big 12 with yellow domes.)

That is all...but does anyone think they will make a little bit of changes because of PR?.... thoughts?

They might be able to put names on them, but I doubt much beyond that- I think they are pretty well committed to whatever was order last fall under Chizik.

I could see both 1 and 2 being possible. I for one, would deffinitely want to see names on the jerseys.
They wont change the helmet color, because it would require changes to the logo, which they spent too much money on.

I don't think they would have to change the logo at all. Why do you think they would need to.

Maybe the names, but that'd be about it (I think). I emailed Pollard about this not too long ago and said that the uni's would not be changing. He said when they got the new uni's, Rhoads actually contacted him saying how much he liked them.

I'm hopeful that we'll actually stick to something...

I think that the "STATE" on the logo would not be readable on a yellow background. I could be wrong.

I don't think any college sports teams should have their names on the back of the jersey...

They buy new Helmets every year. I hear gold helmets ala 1976 this year.

I'm ok with adding names cause I'm having hard time with all the young guys on the field. Other than that, keep em exactly the same.

Not on the topic of uni's, but I think it is very interesting how much contact Rhoads had with Pollard before any of this coaching business came about. PR obviously has been following Iowa State since he left...that is a good sign!

I would like to see "pride" stickers.....(like the Buckeye stickers for OSU)....have the secondary logo...the "tornado-bird" for good play....kinda like Florida State with their little tomahawks everywhere.

Also, put larger numbers (yellow) on the back of the helmet. That could be cool.

I also love pride stickers, but I think we might be in the minority on that subject.

I would love that to death!! It just seems so obvious!

Something needs to be done with the helmets. Not that I don't like them the way they are, I would just like to distinquish ourselves from USC. I actually think gold colored helmets would look sweet.
