Orlando Sentinel - Florida State's NCAA penalties: It's not so bad, unless you are Bobby Bowden by Tim Stephens
I suggest you read the link for New Mexico State's penalties. Not a fair shake for New Mexico St. if you ask me.

The NCAA is a joke.
I think it was a good thing, it warns the other programs to be careful and dont get caught:wink:
The NCAA will never attack a major school again like it has in the past. Financial powerhouse teams and the NCAA are co-dependent on each other. Grave sanctions were once applied by them to SMU in the early 80's. The irrepairable damage done shocked/scared even them! This is a truely bad case in which Bobby had no idea what was going on. This should be a lesson to teams like us though. The NCAA can't afford to upset major cogs in the BCS wheel. Therefore they will not. Sure I understand that Florida State has not really impacted the BCS lately, but they will always be associated with it much like the sub par Alabama all through the 90's. Point in lesson. The NCAA will only flex their muscles onto schools that cannot flex back. As much as I do not want to admit it, we are the guy getting sand kicked in his face by the body builder on the beach. Oklahoma players a few years back got caught recieving thousands of dollars by alumi's. They're program didn't skip a beat. If that was us, we would be halfway through a 5 year bowl bid ban.
