I love the idea of a game in arrowhead. I was stuck at a school thing when we played FSU @ arrowhead, so i'm looking forward to being there next fall.
My only beef with this is that it doesnt include the ticket in the season tickets when it wouldve been a home game. I believe KU and MU in the past have included it in the tickets when it wouldve been a home game.
Effectively we've got a phantom season ticket price increase to go to all of our 'home' games, after an awful season and in a bad economy. Bad decision if you ask me. I'd have no problem with it not being included in the season tix on the years that it wouldnt have been a home game anyways.
All season-ticket packages include the Border Showdown game against Missouri at Arrowhead Stadium. KU and MU will split the seats at Arrowhead; KU season-ticket holders will receive first priority for KU's seats.
So I'm looking at the schedule and I see that we have a game against Kansas State in Kansas City. Assuming that game is in ArrowHead, and as I am looking at it, it looks like we are calling that one of our home games. Or at least it is taking the place of one of our home games.
Does that bother anyone else? Why would we give up one of our home field games to play on what is basically a home game for Kansas State?
Granted we will likely have equal opportunity to bring as many or more fans, but does anyone believe that will happen?
I have thought this all along and everyone has bashed me saying ittl be a great time blah blah...i personally am a little more concerned about the football team. This is a huge game for us. Lets be honest, the winner of this game stays out of the Big 12 North cellar.
I bet we put more in Kansas City next year for the KSU game than we ever would have put in Manhattan. This season I'd guess we put our fair share in Arrowhead also. Obviously not as many as people in the Jack, but I'd be willing to bet the next couple seasons we pick up a few season ticket holders because of the trip to KC. You only have to have fun once to convince them to buy season tickets the next year and KC to Ames isn't a bad trip at all.
