Rivals has him as a 3 star Inside Linebacker. Seems like a solid late year pick up.

Love that pick up. Why didn't anyone else get him? Might be some issues with him but being this late in the game you can't be too choosy.

Much needed addition. Let's hope he can come in and play at a high level and isn't a "bust".

I brought up in the visitor thread the issue of inflated height. As was said earlier, if he can cover the field, being under 6-0 doesn't bother me. There have been a number of effective LB's in the 5-10 to 5-11 range.

I've never been one to see height as a limitation in FB. If anything, a short stature sometimes comes with advantages.

Guy sounds like a solid pick-up! Hopes he makes it to campus, and can be an instant starter. Taufoo, Smith, and Garrin/Raven?

There is no info anywhere that says he is shorter than what he is listed. Most players have inflated numbers anyway so if he's really 6'0 or 5'11, no issues. A lot of the LBs we were recruiting in the 2009 class were sub 6'0. This kid sounds like a good trade for Cam Bell.

Hopefully he's got some speed. I know Wally has said in interviews that speed is going to be a necessity for LB's in his defense.

    From the article posted:

The one thing that will motivate Matt in the next few years is the fact that the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Taufoou is getting downgraded because he doesn’t fit the typical mold of a linebacker at the Division I level. “When colleges are making visits the first thing they do is size me up to see how tall I am,” Taufoou said. “I heard one college thought I was 5-9. I guess I’m going to have to start getting some big ’ol boots. But seriously, the height thing doesn’t mean anything to me. It’s never stopped me from reaching my goals.”

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?
